Introduction: To know the satisfaction among the patients’ companion in the
emergency service in order to know how it really works. In this way, the
assistance to the patients, their companions and even, the professionals can be
improve.
Aims: To describe the level of satisfaction among the users’ companions of the
emergency service and find the relationship between the sociodemographic
variables of the companions and their satisfaction.
Methodology: An analytic descriptive survey that took place in the emergency
service in Figueres Hospital (Girona). A sample of advisability was carried out for
two weeks. The sociodemographic variables of the users’ companions, the
information about the time of the stay in the service and the gender of the
professional who assisted them were studied. The Consumer Emergency Care
Satisfaction Scale (CECSS) survey validated by the Spanish population.
Results: They did 72 surveys. The average of age was 58,0 years old (DE=13,7),
75% were women. The average score of satisfaction was 64,6 points (DE=6,3).
The age of the survey respondent and the time of the stay in the service were
two variables associated with the satisfaction, observing at older age [p=-0,242]
and, less time of stay in the emergency service [-0,243] the level of satisfaction
is higher.
Conclusion: The level of satisfaction of the companions in the emergency
service has been satisfactory. The factors related to the satisfaction have been
the age of the respondent and the time of the stay in the service
