This project provides new data on conflict reported in Spanish newspapers about the two televised electoral debates that took place during the 2019 Spanish general election campaign. Three different criteria were followed to categorize a given debate as conflictive: the use of sports-related or warlike language, the use of winner versus loser tags, and comments on potential results and future coalitions. Results were compared to similar analyses previously done in order to address whether face to face debates are more prone to be reported more conflictive than debates with multiple candidates.
