Multiple Sclerosis is a neurodegenerative, chronic and unpredictable disease of the central nervous system due to an inflammatory demyelinating process. It appears in the most productive stage of life and its diagnosis supposes an emotional impact on life project of those people and their environment. The prevalence of anxiety and depression in these patients range from 16 to 44%. The evolution of the disease sequentially provoke some disorders that worsen functional disability and reduce the quality of life, leading to an increased use of health care services. Nevertheless and despite their high prevalence, these disorders remain underdiagnosed. The project aims to incorporate a nursing intervention to preventive manage this problem, based on the early detection and treatment of these disorders to increase patients quality of life. Objective: The main objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a nursing intervention strategy based on the early detection of emotional problems to improve the health-related quality of life of patients with Multiple Sclerosis. Methodology: A clinical trial study is proposed. MS patients from the Unitat de Neuroimmunologia i Esclerosi Múltiple de l’Hospital Sta.Caterina de Salt that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria and have signed the informed consent previously, will be recruited. A random sample of the population will be used. The intervention group will be categorized and specific sessions will be carried out depending on the early detection of emotional problems to those affected by MS. Its effectiveness will be analyse and compared to the control group. The sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, the level of anxiety, depression and quality of life of these people will be analysed and used for categorization. The instruments used for data collection will be the sociodemographic and clinical data questionnaire, the Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and the Sclerosis Impact Scale (MSIS-29). The data analysis will be carry out through the statistical program IBM SPSS Stadistics ​
