Theoretical framework: infant massage can be defined as a form of tactile stimulation applied by a person where there is manipulation of the soft tissues as a means of promoting health and well-being of the child. Infant massage consists of a series of hand gestures and skills on a regular basis and certain body tissues to influence the nervous system, muscle, skin, joints and blood circulation done. Infant massage improves certain baby’s aspects for example: the relationship between parents and child, pain caused by colics and promotes the physical growth of infants. It helps to reduce bilirubin levels. It increases hours of sleep and it improves the skin condition. There are some benefits for mothers too: the increase of self-confidence and self-esteem. It promotes the maternal ability to understand the baby’s cues. It helps to lower the levels of anxiety and stress. The infant massage training promotes positive changes with respect to the presence of depressive symptoms in mothers who are diagnosed of post-partum depression. Objectives: the main objective is to know whether the relationship between the mother and the baby improves through the infant massage. The specific objectives are to know whether the infantile colic improves through the infant massage, to know whether the amount of hours of sleep increases, to know whether the stress decrease, to study whether symptoms of post-partum depression improve, to know whether the skin condition of the baby improves, to identify the benefits perceived by mothers and the satisfaction degree of mothers with the massage sessions. Methods: observational study, descriptive pre-post intervention of a non-probabilistic sample without the presence of a control group. It will be carried out in the province of Girona in the field of community health. The study will be aimed at parents of ages between 20 and 45 years old residing in the province of Girona, who have babies aged between 8 and 6 months. There will be an intervention of 8 massaging session for babies at their center of reference. It will be made a data collection book composed of: sociodemographic survey, clinical data questionnaire addressed to the mother, Maternal Attachment Inventory, Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, Neonatal Skin Condition Score, clinical data questionnaire addressed to nurse. These variables will be analyzed through the program (IBM) SPSS version 21 for Windows. A comparison of the results will be made later (pre-test and post-test), through which we can see if the objectives of the project have been achieved of not
