The records preserved in the “Arxiu Diocesà”
of Girona are an important source of information
on the daily life during the XIV-XIX
centuries, because a large sector of the population
belonged to the ecclesiastical jurisdiction.The
abuses recorded were not only
of sexual order but also sometimes about
violent behaviour. Examples and documents
of this situation are briefly presented in this
article, dealing about clergymen of the village
of Mieres
