In modern times the relationship between
the subject and photography has grown in
importance. Self-portrait in photography has
become a worldwide trend. The practice of
the selfie could become a way of understanding
a homogenised identity. And herein
lies the paradox: people who want to show
their differences as a subject but use the
same photographic schemas — face and
space in the same frame, always recognizable
— become further proof of capitalist
logic in the digital network. Individual identity
is constructed in photographic self-portraits
through a homogenized representation
of the subject. Once again, the photographic
composition is serialized and individuals are
shown in a virtual reality which they themselves
have created. The way identities are
displayed on networks makes the face the
most important part for identification. And
thus, identities are treated like merchandise
that can be bought and sold
En la actualidad la relación entre sujeto y fotografía
se ha incrementado de manera notable.
El autorretrato fotográfico se ha convertido en
una de las tendencias más desarrolladas en
el día a día. La práctica del selfie puede servir
para entender la forma de crear una identidad
homogenizada. Así nace una paradoja;
personas que quieren mostrar sus diferencias
como sujetos pero siempre utilizando el mismo
esquema compositivo fotográfico —rostro
y espacio en un mismo encuadre, siempre
reconocible— y terminan convirtiéndose,
dentro de las redes digitales, en otra prueba
de la lógica capitalista. La concepción de la
alteridad dentro de la representación fotográ-
fica ha variado todos sus parámetros debido
a nuevas formas de comunicación a través
de la imagen. La construcción de la identidad
individual en los autorretratos fotográficos
se realiza a través de una representación
homogeneizada del sujeto. Una vez más, la
composición fotográfica serializada pasa a
representar el individuo que se exhibe a través de una realidad construida por el mismo,
la virtual. La forma con la que el sujeto exhibe
su identidad en las redes hace que el rostro
sea una de las partes más importantes para
la identificación de cada uno de los individuos
de la sociedad. Así, las identidades pasan
a ser tratadas como mercancías susceptibles
de ser compradas y vendidas
