Introduction: Due to the increase in the life expectancy of population, a progressive increase is also noted in mental illness such as dementia, which triggers severe and progressive cognitive impairment until death. Many studies have focused on the patient's care with dementia, but we cannot ignore the fact that this person has a family that undergoes to specific experiences, feelings, emotions that the nurse must have in mind for the care plan. Objective: On the one hand, explore the feelings and experiences of close relative people with dementia admitted to an old people centre. And on the other hand, analyze the perceptions of people with dementia admitted to an old people centre in relation to the accompaniment received by the nursing staff.
Method: A phenomenological qualitative study focused on relatives of people with dementia admitted to the geriatric center in the province of Barcelona between September 2016 and May 2017. The interview technique used to ensure the information is an individual depth interview with each participant, respecting a common script focused on the objectives of the study.
The sample has been of 3 elderly family members of residents with dementia. The results were organized into categories and removed to make a comparative analysis in verse in the bibliography encounter
