Bayle crític de Descartes: un escèptic al rescat del racionalisme?

This article focuses on Bayle’s interpretation of Cartesianism. While Descartes finds rationalism to be compatible with the omnipotent God of the Christian tradition, Bayle sustains that giving credence to the belief in God undermines rationalism, since rational evidence and an omnipotent God (the latter eventually fallacious) are logically irreconcilable. After analysing Descartes’ reasoning and Bayle’s arguments, their value is assessed and the consequences are explored ​
