La traducció del Càntic dels Càntics de Mn. Frederic Clascar

Abstract

This paper analyzes linguistically Catalan translation of the Song of Songs published in 1918 by Frederic Clascar made directly from the Hebrew text. It underlines, from comparison with the original text with a literal version, the value of the solutions used and their willingness to contribute at the creation of a model of cultured literary language, although the linguistic options taken not finally takes precedence

En aquest treball s’analitza lingüísticament la traducció catalana del Càntic dels Càntics publicada l’any 1918 per Frederic Clascar i realitzada directament a partir del text hebreu. Es posa de relleu, a partir de la comparació amb el text original i amb una versió literal, el valor de les solucions emprades i la seva voluntat de contribuir a la creació d’un model de llengua literària culta, encara que les opcions lingüístiques preses no acabessin imposant-se finalment
