dc.description.abstract
There is no clear evidence for type III Acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocations treatment. The clinician should choose the most between non-operative treatment and operative management according to every patient. Past studies are not strong enough to extract clear conclusions. Also, the heterogeneity in the procedures and the existence of new better techniques constitute a lack of current evidence. Functional outcomes seem to see similar on both treatments but complication rates are still unclear
Objective: The purpose of this protocol is to show an inferior complication rate after conservative treatment using operative management based on the use of Twin tail TightRope® (by Arthrex) device
Design: Randomized, controlled, observer-blind and unicentric clinical trial design will be carried out in Hospital Universitari Dr. Josep Trueta in Girona within the Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery (OTS) Department. Participants: Patients aged between 18 and 40 years diagnosed of Type III Acromio-Clavicular joint dislocation
