The purpose of this work is the analysis of the origin of concessive conjunction manque presents in determined variant of the southern Spanish. We began our investigation from the thesis of Corominas and Pascual (1980-1991: s. v. anque) according to which this voice would come from a crossing between mas que and anque. However, as these authors do not offer reasons that sustain this affirmation, we have decided to investigate the question. Therefore, we defend that manque can turn out the evolution from the concessive medieval conjunction to maguer, whose etym is Greek μ . For it, arguments of etymological, syntactic and phonetic-phonologic type are adduced in addition to a brief explanation of social linguistic type that can give account of this transformation.
