In other words, to trace the reflections that have been carried out in the historiographical community on the modern sport that took place in the Girona area. On the other hand, some research perspectives are outlined that can be initiated in order to structure a more complex worldview of the reality of sport. In particular, it calls for a transition from the production of eminently localist works to research of microhistorical inspiration, with its methodological and epistemological derivations; Aquest article té com a objectiu, per una part, fer un balanç sobre la historiografia de les pràctiques esportives modernes a la província de Girona. És a dir, resseguir les reflexions que ha dut a terme la comunitat historiogràfica sobre l’esport modern que s’efectuà al territori gironí. Per altra part, es perfilen algunes perspectives d’investigació que es poden encetar per tal d’estructurar una cosmovisió més complexa de la realitat esportiva. The work had the scientific participation of 37 specialists. When we took on the project of publishing the history of Girona, at the end of the 1980s, we did it convinced of Girona’s deep historiographical tradition, but also because we knew that an overall vision was missing up until that moment. The idea was to present a global analysis of the history of the city, based on the elaboration of interpretive syntheses that integrated the existing bibliography and that provided, as far as possible, conclusions from the research that was in progress; La Història de Girona editada per l’Ateneu d’Acció Cultural (ADAC) entre els anys 1991 i el 2000, i reeditada l’any 2005 per CCG Edicions, va representar per a la historiografia gironina una aportació fonamental. L’obra va disposar de la participació científica de 37 especialistes. En el moment d’afrontar el projecte d’edició d’una història de Girona, a finals dels anys vuitanta, ho fèiem convençuts de la profunda tradició historiogràfica gironina, però també des de l’evidència que ens mancava una visió de conjunt.
