Abstract

The analysis of various circumstances related to how theatrical texts were fixed in the silent realm of manuscripts or printed books shows the losses entailed by the «institutionalization » of a genre that was originally conceived for noisy stages. This paper reviews some of the mechanisms by which theatrical performances become manuscripts or printed books through the first half of the 16th century Spanish drama

La consideración de algunas de las circunstancias de la fijación de los textos teatrales en el silencioso mundo del manuscrito o el impreso muestra el proceso de pérdida implicado en la «institucionalización» de un género concebido inicialmente para el bullicioso espacio de la representación. Este trabajo repasa algunos de los mecanismos implicados en el paso del teatro representado al texto fijado en manuscritos o impresos referentes al teatro español de la primera mitad del siglo XVI
