Estimación métrica longitudinal en la educación primaria: factores implícitos en la capacidad estimativa métrica

Nowadays nobody doubts of the importance of estimation in the curriculum. However, estimation is very frequently focused onto the metrical field and referred to the value of discrete quantities as well as to the mental solution of the four basic algorithms. This research focuses on longitudinal metrical estimation in order to tackle factors that can either enhance or inhibit it and also the procedures, resources and strategies used by primary school students. The designed FIEM test puts students to the test in metrical estimation situations both for discrete object sets and for straight segments or curved lines. In all cases they were presented with either structural or perceptual variations. ​
